Helm's Christmas Tree Farm is owned and operated by Henry Helms in Vale, NC. Henry started his Christmas Tree Farm in 1975 on land that was once a part of his grandfather's farm. Prior to 1975, Henry spent a number of years in the mountains growing Fraser Firs, but wanted to take the opportunity to grow trees on his family's land in the piedmont. In its beginning, the farm was a wholesale Christmas Tree farm, but quickly moved to the sale of Choose and Cut. Over the years, the farm has grown to approximately 6,000 trees, and will harvest between 1500 and 2000 trees annually.

Helms grows White Pine, Red Cedar, Leyland Cypress, Carolina Sapphire, Colorado Blue Spruce and Blue Ice all on his farm to sell as Choose and Cut. In addition the variety of Eastern NC Christmas Trees that Helm's sells for Choose and Cut, they also offers pre-cut Fraser Firs from the North Carolina Mountains.

During the Christmas season, Helms offers a wide variety of goods and activities at his Choose and Cut operation to provide his customers the opportunity to make lasting memories and traditions with their family. Thomas the train, and a covered wagon run offer rides to visitors that run every 15 minutes. Helms Christmas Tree farm also has a Christmas Shop selling all sorts of Christmas decorations. In addition to decorations and trees, they also sell wreaths, garlands and table arrangements made from live greenery. If you get hungry while visiting the farm, Helms sells hot and cold beverages, candy, cakes, crackers and chips to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst. The biggest attraction, is that Santa and Mrs. Clause make a visit to Helms' farm every weekend!

During the June and July, Helms Christmas Tree Farm is also open for a pick your on Blueberry operation.

Helms Christmas Tree Farm opens on November 20th and will stay open until December 20th from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM daily.
