Members of the ENCCTGA become part of a family of growers dedicated to developing high quality Christmas trees, improving the industry, and promoting the purchase of real Christmas trees from choose & cut farms. Membership is open to owners of choose & cut farms, vendors, and employees of public agencies serving the industry. ENCCTGA is a non-profit organization which meets two times each year, February, and September, in eastern North Carolina locations.

Choose and cut members east of the mountains enjoy and have access to numerous resources including but not limited to:

  • Guidance and direction for starting a choose & cut Christmas tree farm.
  • Use and application of appropriate chemicals such as herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers, and colorants.
  • Deer retardant to minimize deer damage.
  • Soil testing techniques and strategies to maximize results and fertilizer applications.
  • Layout and planting techniques for various species of trees grown.
  • Best equipment and vendor resources.
  • Caring for and shearing of trees.
  • Marketing of your trees through the internet and social media.
  • Direct assistance from dedicated professionals employed by NC State University School of Forestry and the NC Department of Agriculture.
  • Agritourism - How to add value to your choose & cut Christmas tree operation.
  • Seminars/presentations from the “experts” at semi-annual meetings.
  • Membership dues are $75 per farm, per calendar year.
